Eleven birders walked Owen Park and the eastern fields at Warren Wilson College
today. We had 35 species, not bad for July when most birds have stopped singing
and many families have dispersed to take advantage of summer seeds and insects
which are prolific. The highlight was Warbling Vireo both seen and heard beside
the parking lot on the lower lake, a White-eyed Vireo singing in the fields,
and a Spotted Sandpiper flying over the lake. Join us at Owen Park at 8am on
Saturday, August 19.
