My rowing buddies and I saw this red tail sitting on a sign not more than
six or seven feet above the ground. It sat there for easily 15 minutes
watching us, but also allowing us to get within 8 feet to take multiple
photos. There was also a car with its motor running and several people in
it, parked just in front of the sign. At one point they open their car door
and we're talkin quite loudly but the hawk did not move. That behavior and
apparent lack of fear seemed very strange to me. He eventually flew away,
so presumably wasn't injured.
Any comments or thoughts?
