reference is dead-on accurate.
Three Roseate Spoonbills. Butler Bridge Road runs west off Hendersonville
Highway down past Fletcher. Turn right [west] on Butler Bridge as you go
South on Hendersonville Highway. Just after you go over I-26, turn left
[south] on North Rugby Road. At about one half mile, there will be a swampy
beaver pond visible through the trees on your left [east]. If you go a few
more yards, you cross a bridge over Mud Creek and you have gone too far.
On the far shore of the beaver pond, there are three Roseate Spoonbills -
maybe 100 yards distant. Look to be sub-adults.
Only places to safely park are two small pullouts just north of Mud Creek
on either side of North Rugby Road and then you walk north about 50 yards
to the gaps in the trees. Much traffic - be careful. Cheers, Bill
