Absolutely stunning and great tribute prior to Jamie's talk. I especially
like the golden crowned shape on the bird mimicking the left leave shape!

Birding friends,
I have been intending to post some photos of the Golden-winged Warbler,
one of my favorite warblers. This might be a good time to do it in advance
of the Jamie Harrelson's Audubon program tomorrow, about this threatened
bird (see aforementioned Tom Tribble announcement and link). I was
fortunate to find this Golden-winged on Max Patch Road recently, near the
intersection of Turkey Trot Rd. Not only is it one of our most beautiful
warblers, it happened to be foraging in a flowering silver bell tree most
of time right on the road. A beautiful bird foraging in a flowering tree
is extra special. It seemed totally oblivious to me for a good 30 minutes
as I watched in awe. I particularly like the last photo because I was so
fortunate to catch a pose of the bird showing both golden-wing patches in
the same image.
