This morning we had a nice crowd - of people, around 35, and a few
more species of birds - 44. Visitors were able to get looks at the
Pileated Woodpecker visiting her cavity, and both Brown-headed Nuthatch
parents making food runs to their cavity, which must be holding
nestlings at this point.
A singing Yellow-throated Warbler inside the sanctuary did make a
clear appearance at the very top of a bare tree for distant views.
A Spotted Sandpiper displayed it's up-and-down bob over and over
for everyone to see at relatively close distance.
Yellow-billed Cuckoos were present as fly-overs several times but
never presented for close views.
Towards the end of the walk the group was able to track down a singing
immature male Orchard Oriole for fair looks.
