I'd like to sign JD's card too, I'm so sorry to see him leave but pleased for
him so that he can hopefully have more to time to enjoy himself. I have a
staff meeting after work tomorrow so won't get to the pub, but Charmaine
perhaps I can sign the card when its convenient for you?

This morning, I popped into Londis (as you do) and JD (the owner) said that
as of today he's retiring. He and his wife Lata (who he says is the
backbone of the business) have made it 'our corner shop' for over 30 years
and both are well known and loved within our community. Sadly, the end of
an era. However, the new owners are also a couple and no doubt you'll see
them when you next go to Londis.
JD said he and his family have had a wonderful time - having started the
business from scratch, the ups and the downs, all types of customers, being
part of the wider community, lots of laughs, appreciation and a job well
done. They plan to continue living life as fully as possible during
retirement - just another adventure!
