The Learning Research and Development Center (LRCD) at the University of
Pittsburgh is seeking candidates for the Director's Visiting Research
Fellowship for up to one year beginning September 1, 2011. The Fellowship is
intended primarily for scholars who are at least seven years beyond the Ph.D.
although exceptions can be made in special circumstances. Fellows can be from
any of the disciplines that are part of LRDC's research portfolio. These
include Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science,
Education, Human-Computer Interaction, Informal Learning, Learning Sciences,
Computational Linguistics, Neurosciences, Organizational and Policy Studies,
and School Improvement. The goal of the Fellowship is to enrich LRDC programs
of work with fresh perspectives and to spur cross-disciplinary discussion and
research projects. As such, we seek scholars who enjoy lively collaboration and
conversation and who are interested in pushing the boundaries of conventional
disciplinary domains. The Fellowship offers salary support (commensurate with
experience) for one half an academic year. The ideal candidate is someone who
has a full year's sabbatical from his or her home institution and is interested
