Hello,
I currently live in Hamlin, NY with my parents in the same house I grew up
in. A lot has happened in the past 8 years since I left, but here I am,
back with Mom and Dad. I went to school (K-12) in Brockport and loved
every second of it. I attended SUNY Geneseo and graduated in 1999 with a
degree in elementary ed./special ed. I decided I was ready to spread my
wings a bit and moved to Alexandria, Virginia. I taught a blended
kindergarten class for two years at Ft. Belvoir Elementary school in
Fairfax County, yep, a bunch of army brats. It was a wonderful experience
and a beautiful, but expensive place to live. It was then that I realized
I was ready to move even further away and attended a job fair in Bethesda,
Maryland for International Schools. On July 5, 2001 I accepted a job, 2
year contract, in Hong Kong. On August 4th I packed my three suitcases,
hopped on a plane and the adventure began. It was an experience of a
lifetime, I could go on and on........Unfortunately due to SARS my
contract was cut short and I returned home this past May. Don't get me
wrong, I was ready to come home, but it was hard to leave under those
circumstances.
So here I am teaching 4th grade at Northwood Elementary School (Hilton).
I am very happy to be home and am enjoying spending time with my family,
especially my 1 year old niece and my boyfriend. This is my first
graduate level course, I am a bit behind with this and hope to receive an
extension.
