I fully agree.
I wanted to get this one released and then look at improvements.
I was thiinking about filtering or lazy loading. A search function would
be good as well.

The new labels should better match the other labels in the same
tree structure and look less alien.
I also plan to change the position of the scroll lock, filter and
clear buttons of the serial monitor, to better match the Eclipse
UI... If you agree I'll move them beside the add and remove
serial console actions, with same position and icon used in the
standard Eclipse console View.
