About the sunflowers .....
The idea came about after we saw the council spraying the verges on our school
run. My children wanted to do something for the bees so four families planted
them in places that we thought would be suitable. (We are aware that some
verges and well maintained by the houses nearby and we didn't want to disrupt
them).
We have had lots of positive comments (and a couple of complaints), but overall
they did what they were intended to do which was to cheer people up after a
pretty rubbish year.
If there is a general consensus that it would be a nice thing to do, and we can
find a verge or two that are central to the ECCO community then I'd be happy to
organise something in the spring and involve more local children (or adults!).
