*Yellow Arch Studios*S3 8BX – White Room Gallery: *SENSE OF PLACE* exhibition, 1^st December 2018 – 28^th February 2019

In the wake of serious warnings from the latest UN report on climate change, Sense of Place brings together a collection of artworks responding to the theme of place, spaces and the outdoor world. The works consider, examine or reflect upon this subject matter, ranging from modern day relationships with the natural world to the political uncertainties we are facing across the globe, manifesting in the continual displacement of people through warfare and environmental disasters.

1. Submissions now open for the 2019 prize until 18th December (this year)

2. The 2019 guest judges are the absolutely amazing authors Sarah Moss (most recently Northumbria-set /Ghost Wall/) & Fiona Mozley (of Man Booker shortlisted /Elmet/)

3. Big Issue North has been announced as our first media partner

4. The 2019 Prize includes new eligibility T&Cs, which include Northerners living outside the North

5. *Greentop Community Circus Centre**: **Freelance Marketing Assistant (Maternity Cover)***

Greentop is seeking a freelance marketing assistant for 2 days/month for maternity cover for 12 months from 14th January 2019 at £10/hour. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to play an essential role in delivering marketing and communications activities in all areas of our work.

Greentop Community Circus Centre is a dedicated centre for circus arts serving the North of England with classes and courses for adults and young people, professional circus artist development, and tailor-made programmes and events for schools, communities and businesses. Last year we served over 22,000 beneficiaries in 800 events and workshops in a broad range of settings.

This varied role requires a proactive, organised individual with proven experience of supporting and delivering successful PR, social media and marketing campaigns

*Our volunteers, who are all local makers and artists, will be going an extra mile during December - opening the gallery shop every Sunday from 11-3 and providing some late night shopping opportunities. We all hope this will be a help to all our supporters.*
