A couple of ideas - maybe a note could be put on the lamp posts that still
have the smart water stickers on them, asking that the stickers be moved to
the new posts (assuming they will unstick and stick again) and maybe even
referring to the fact that such has been agreed with Amey (or whoever else
is dealing with the change of lamp posts). A call to Amey may also be best
as its likely (in the way big organisations work these days that) a formal
instruction needs to get issued to the workmen.

them (purchased by ECCO). I spoke to one of the workers a few days ago and
he said that the signs would be transferred to the new posts, however the
old post near to me has now been taken away and the sign seems to have been
taken with it.
I will try to see the workmen tomorrow to check.
Any suggestions about what we can do to retain the signs?
