This is really a message for people on Everton Road. :)
It's that time of year again... The lovely trees in Endcliffe Park are
sending us big piles of leaves! There's no point waiting until they've all
come down - the last leaves usually fall in January, by which time the
fallen ones have been rotting, turning the pavements into a real health &
safety hazard!
Ramen and I have done our usual thing - we started clearing the top of
Everton Road last week, and we've managed to clear about a third of the
leaves. Unfortunately, my back seized up in the process, and I've been on
painkillers since then, so not terribly mobile. And Ramen is working during
the day, so we can't make the best of the dry weather at the moment. (This
is a fairly weather-dependent job; no point doing it when it's raining...
the bags get too heavy.)
*If the weather is dry* this weekend (hopefully my back will be ok by
then), would anyone be willing to help on *Saturday afternoon* to clear
the rest? It's much easier to do it as a two-person, or multi-person, job
(I've also done it on my own, so I know).
Rossington Road also had more than its fair share of fallen leaves this
autumn - the pavements are so slippery that we just have to walk on the
road when it's wet (to the annoyance of drivers who use our roads as a
shortcut, haha :)). Once we've got Everton Road cleared, were happy to help
out there, too.
We've got a big builders' bag that we fill up (half), then drag it up the
road and tip the leaves over the wall, back into the park where they came
from - if anyone wants to borrow that for Rossington Road, you're welcome,
just give us a shout.
