Hello neighbours,
Just in time for the Open Gardens day on Saturday, we've got 3 big cuttings
from our big yucca plant outside our house - it's growing so vigorously
that it needed a trim!
Martin says yuccas need a warm, sheltered place, near a house wall or in a
conservatory, as it's not really a hardy plant for our climate (that said,
ours survived the big frost a few years ago - but only just!).
Since Martin is opening his garden on Saturday, you can ask him for advice
on how to grow it!
We've also got a yucca in the driest corner of our garden - it's happy to
survive on very little water and its hard, sharp-pointed leaves keep the
cats at bay - they used to think of that corner as a public convenience,
but they won't argue with the yucca.... ;)
We'll put the cuttings out on the day - they still need to dry out a bit
before they can be planted to grow roots. The tallest cutting is about 1
metre high, but the stem can be shortened. The other two are smaller.
If you're interested, drop us a line or simply come along on Saturday and
pick one up!
All the best,
Fides & Ramen
