We love Sharrow Vale Market. It's a fantastic event that brings the
community together and attracts people from all over the city. This well
attended market shows the best in community spirit and what Sheffielders
can do.
That's why we were shocked when we read in the paper this morning

that the Labour-run Sheffield City Council are planning on hiking the
charges for this event from £25 to a whopping £800, leaving the future
of the market uncertain.
We think that Sheffield City Council should be encouraging community
groups and volunteers who have the initiative to set things like this
up, not trying to use them as a cash machine to rake in sky-high fees.
