How difficult is it to open it? You haven't by any chance acquired a clever
cat, squirrel or magpie 'friend' who is enjoying that 'toy'? ;)

I wondered if it might be that, opening the front cover and punching
random buttons to see if they worked...and then I took the key out of

I can imagine someone doing that under the cover of darkness but it's
been happening in broad daylight as well.
Yesterday evening it was shortly after six in broad daylight with the
sun shining down on my front door...
Peculiar. I'm going to get KeySafe to take it off the wall.

That’s the only thing I can think of.

SUBJECT: [eccotalk] A puzzle for you...
I have a key safe fixed to the wall next to the front door. It isn't
used now.
For some time now I have found the front cover opened -- my daughter
thought it was the wind but I can't see the wind, even the big gusts
we
have had, unclipping it as it needs a pull, a light pull but a pull
nevertheless, to do that.
Sometimes it appears to have been done in the night but, recently, I
have noticed that is has happened during the day.
To eliminate the possibility of the wind doing it, a few days ago I
taped up the sides so the wind couldn't possibly open it.
This evening, as I was practising the piano, I heard a clatter and, a
short time later, when I looked through the bay window I saw that it
had
been opened, pulling the tape off.
Who do you think could be doing this and whatever for?
Chris
