Jane,

Surround the text you want to braille with the Compinline style.  This style 
puts beginning and ending computer code indicators around the text and uses the 
computer braille table to prevent the text from being translated into 
contracted braille.

  How would you Braille www.bls.gov?  (so it doesn't translate www.blinds.gov?)
