Why can't one strip hard returns and line feeds and headers and start over? Surely that can't be rocket science; or am I a moron? (The idea has occured to me recently, so if we can, I am a moron, if we can't ... :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Catherine Thomas" <braille@xxxxxxxxx> To: <duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, June 21, 2003 11:59 AM Subject: [duxuser] reproducing .brf files When we finally stumble onto the precise settings ehich were used to produce the oringinal file and also change any of our own settings (such as turning off all page numbers) to perfectly reproduce the .brf file as it oringinally appeared, we get to waste a whole lot of space and paper. The embossers can produce 42 characters per line on the ll.5 or 12 inch paper. Most embossers can also comfortably produce 26 lines per side. Most .brf files are produced in far less than these settings. According to data on the NLS site, most .brf files are produced with 38 cells per line and 25 lines per side of the page. It's a shame, really!
