Hi Sara If you find that your keyboard won't work either for perky duck this is what I did. I went into Future Shop which was wonderful explained the situation to them that I needed a keyboard - and yes cheap ones work better for this, that would allow sdfjkl to all be pressed and entered at the same time. We picked out a keyboard and they plugged it right in at the store and then tried by pressing the 6 keys sdfjkl all at the same time to see if it would record them all. It worked very well that way. I live 1 1/2 hrs from a major city and this was really helpful. When I hooked up the new cheap keyboard at home it still worked. This was much better than trial and error buy and returning several before finding one that works. Hope this helps Sara Cheryl ----- Original Message ----- From: Maurine Park To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 2:25 PM Subject: [duxuser] Re: perky duck question Hi. Sara, Thanks for the impute I just got a wireless keyboard and was trying to use that, maybe if I plug in the keyboard that actually came with my system it'd allow me to do it. Can you do 6 key entry in dbt as well or just perky duck? I had to get a new, (and cheaper), keyboard in order to write in DBT using 6-key entry. The newer and better keyboards have something built in to them that doesn't allow the user to press more than three keys simultaneously. If you try, only three dots will show up, which makes typing things like q and r, not to mention some contractions, impossible. How do you make a capitol letter using 6 key entry? 2. How do I write the letter g using 6 key entry? I tried the Braille way for doing both of these but was unsuccessful. Also, do you have to only type in grade 1 Braille in perky duck or can you use grade 2? Thanks much, Maurine
