Teri,
Before making any other changes to the Juliet menus, check DBTW's Global
Embosser Settings to be sure that "Treat as Interpoint" is checked. Not
checking that box will produce the kind of inconsistencies you describe.
Unless you've been noting the settings before you change them, you really
don't have any way of restoring them to what they were before you borrowed
the embosser unless they were the factory defaults. You can restore
factory defaults by doing the following:
1. With the embosser off line, enter the Service Menu by pressing 0.0E.
2. Then enter the following series of commands: 95E, 96E, 98E, 99E.
Hi
Well folks, last time it was an old versapoint, this time, a juliet classic. Our embosser is still awaiting repair and the parts are coming from overseas. this time, I'm borrowing a juliet classic which does not have speech. I have it for three days before it has to go back to it's owner so need to get to know it pretty quicly in order to get some urgent embossing done.
I've downloaded the manual, and been able to work out how to set top of form. I've also been able to get a file to start embossing, however, it is sometimes coming out single-sided, sometimes double-sided. What do I need to do to get double-sided braille to come out consistently and correctly?
If anyone has any other tips for a first-time juliett user I'd be most grateful. Also, if any of your instructions involve changing the menus, I'll need advice on how to keep the embosser's current settings for when it goes back to it's owner. I don't know whether they normally just use factory defaults, or whether they have their own set of parameters so don't want to go changing anything if I don't have to.
Your hasty help would be much appreciated.
Teri
