[duxuser] Re: Translation from French brl

The documents I was working from used dot 6 for capitals. Is this not
standard for French braille?

Anyway, I did eventually discover that 4-6 produced caps on translation, so
I changed all dot 6's in the files to dot 4-6 and re-translated.

Thanks for responding.

Dan

Dear Dan:

Since DBT 10.4, if you select "French/Uncontracted" in Document /
Translation
tables, then ALL French accented letters and ALL capital signs will be kept!
Of
course these capital signs will appear with dots 4-6 since you work with a
French table.
In that way you do not need to replace all English capital signs with French
ones.
Better save your energy!

Best regards.

I must translate a great deal of French uncontracted braille back into
e-text. I'm very distressed that DBT does so without capitals! I notice in
the translation table list that some of the languages specify with or
without capitals. Not the French translation table.

Is there a solution to this? Can I somehow get it to correctly translate the
French accented letters WITH the capitals?

Thanks.

Dan
