Doreen,
There are two main types of styles in Word, character styles and paragraph
styles.
Ctrl-spacebar will remove any character style applied without affecting the
underlying paragraph style such as Headings.
You can use this to remove any italic, bold or underline you don't want. Simply
select the appropriate text and press ctrl-spacebar.
If you want to remove any of these typeforms from the whole document, select
the whole document ctrl-a, then press ctrl-spacebar. Note you will also lose
any superscript or subscript as well.
We will often use this feature on really messy documents we receive, to clean
it up. We then reapply any typeforms we want to retain. We find this easier
than trying to go through and individually remove bold, italic etc where not
required.

Subject: [duxuser] TRANSLATING A WORD DOCUMENT INTO DBT
Hi folks:
I am running DBT12.5 with Windows 10 and Office 365.
Wondering what the easiest way is to translate a document from MS Word into
DBT12.2.
I use Word styles to the best of my ability though in truth I don't know the
difference between heading 1 and heading 2 for example, though I imagine it
is down to the formatting.
I then load my document into Duxbury and save in .dxp format. However, when
I translate the document and emboss it I am still left with all the
formatting from the appropriate styles, despite embossing the document in
S.E.B which I choose to do.
Any thoughts on how I remove bold, underlining etc before embossing would be
helpful.
Many thanks.
DOREEN TYLER.
