Thank you for describing your embosser connections and Braille page width and
depth (lines/page).
Is the warning message from Duxbury Braille Translator or some other program?
Yes, the message is significant as the program issuing it thinks your embosser
is set for less than 25 lines/page.
If the message is from DBT [Duxbury Braille Translator], review the settings
for the Braillo 300 S embosser in DBT, changing any different from those for a
Braillo 200.
Save your settings, exit DBT and try embossing an existing .BRF file. Is the
warning message still present or has it gone away? It should not be on screen.
Try reviewing the settings on the actual Braillo 300 S. Both DBT and the
embosser have settings and it simplifies life greatly if they are the same.
Save any changes made on thee Braillo 300 S. Try embossing a .BRF file. The
warning should not be shown.
Do you still use your Braillo 200? Have never owned one. Are they trusty
workhorses seldom requiring the repairperson or somewhat temperamental?
How good is Braillo tech support by e-mail or telephone? Is tech support from
the Braillo U. S. distributor/dealer, or directly from Scandinavia?
Sorry, about being nosey but I seldom encounter a Braillo user.

“Page Depth” is essentially the number of lines of braille, which can fit on
the selected page size.
For example, if I was to send you a file, which was formatted to fit on a
12-inch deep page with 27 lines per page, and you wanted to emboss on to
11-inch deep paper, you would be warned that page depth was exceeded.

I guess I need to back up and ask, what is Page Depth? I know what page length
& width are, but not depth.
In addition, to answer your questions, Brian: We have used these .BRF files for
years on our older Braillos, but we ran them using a DOS .bat file to send them
via a serial cable to the Braillo 200. Now we have a new Braillo 300 S2 and we
are using Duxbury to emboss the files via a USB cable. In both cases, we have
used 40 cells per line and 25 lines per page.
Is the "Page Depth Exceeded" message when we pull the .BRF file into Duxbury
something we need to worry about?

Dear Debra & Duxbury List:
The warning appears to be saying your Braille page depth for your .BRF file
exceeds the page depth presumably of your Braillo Embosser.
This would mean if you emboss the .BRF file as is, you would fill the page with
additional lines occupying the following page. Space;
Have some questions for you:
•When these files were originally embossed, what size paper were they formatted
for?
•What was the original lines per page and line width in characters?
•What make and model embosser was used to emboss these files
Probably you would want to configure the new Braillo that it optimally uses the
paper loaded into it then reformat all the files for the new embosser. I hope
that the original files are still on disk. If the files have any editor’s
commands, it would also be wise to review these at this time.
