Just a thought in case it assists anyone with this issue.
I keep my files always on my PC also and then those folders just sync to
OneDrive so I'm not actually using the OneDrive copy at any given moment
directly from the cloud.

This is not new to 12.7. I don't have any other versions currently
installed, but I can say it's been an issue for a number of years.
If you want to sync between devices, DBT doesn't have any problems with
files in Dropbox. That may be true of some other cloud services, but I don't
have them to know for sure.

Is not being able to work from a file in OneDrive an issue everyone is
having with dbt 12.7?
I haven't yet updated and won't be if this is the case as I prefer to keep
track of all my files in OneDrive where it syncs over all devices and don't
want to be trying to work out which one is the most recent or what I've
backed up or not, those days are gone!

Sorry, I accidentally hit Send before I was done.
You get this message when your file is saved to OneDrive (and possibly some
networks). DBT cannot open those files.
Microsoft tries to force you to save to OneDrive, unless you change it. DBT
can't work those files.
If you are dealing with IT, they will need to make sure you have an option
to save to a local folder. If you are admin for your own computer, you can
do that yourself. For example, make sure that your Desktop is not saving to
OneDrive. You can then move your files to OneDrive once you are ready to
archive them.

I can confirm that I am running the latest version of DBT.
So, I opened a Word document and using swift I imported the document into
DBT. I then got the following message:

Before this message appeared I got a dialog stating the name of the file
with the extension .dxp.

Hi folks:
Running the latest versions of Windows 11, JAWS and DBT 12.7.
I am trying to emboss a document from MS Word. I have tried embossing this
document but every time I either open it using the SWIFT utility or
embossing direct a dialog comes on my screen telling me that the document
needs Java to be installed. The message not only appears on the screen but
then the dialog gets Brailled instead of the document. I know Java is
working on my laptop as I recently updated it.
Any solutions to this please?
