My approach is as follows.
I don't know if you utilise having 2 screens. If not you can split a screen 
left and right having two separate windows open at the same time.

Begin DBT and open a file with the first template you are wanting to look at.
Begin DBT again, and open the second file.
You should now have two DBT windows open. This is important to be able to see 
both files at the same time.

If you have two screens you can drag one window to each screen. If you have a 
single screen then the "windows" key (between CTRL and ALT on the left side of 
keyboard) with a left or right arrow will position a window to the left or 
right side of the screen.

You should now be able to see both versions of DBT. I use Modify Style under 
the document menu to see what codes each style contain.

and how they are different from each other.
The templates I want to study are not necessarily the basic ones that are 
supplied with Duxbury.
