I'm really perplexed. I’ve been working on a textbook, using the BANA 2015
Template in MS Word 2007 with Swift 4.0. I've been able to learn new functions
as I go while still trying to figure it all out. I'm new to DBT —I've used
nothing but MegaDots for over ten years. I completed the first volume of a
textbook and managed to utilize most of the codes and Swift’s menus. But when I
translate to braille in DBT, I'm getting a blank page before pages p1 and also
the main body page 1. My t-pages should end at t3 and my p-pages should end at
p3. So DBT is adding an even-numbered blank page (t4 and p4.) It was suggested
to me that my DBT is set up for interpoint. However, there are print as well as
braille page numbers on the blank pages. I am only getting a blank page at t4
and p4 (along with the refpage continuation number in contents.)I went through
global embosser settings and for all embossers listed, “interpoint”was
unchecked. (If DBT is treating my front pages as interpoint, there should not
be any page numbers on the even pages.) Searching for answers, I noticed
while studying the material from the Duxbury workshop from the 2014 NBA Fall
Conference, section E contains braille examples and on page 6 of section E, and
there it is! … a blank page t4 —just like mine —with no explanation. Am I
missing something? In Volume 2 of this book, the t-pages and p-pages don't have
blank pages —but there are only two of each. The rest of the Swift-BANA
2015-DBT process seems okay. How do I remove these blank pages —I can't delete
lines because it pulls the next page up and assigns a t or p-page number. (What
should follow t3 is p1 —deleting blank page t4 turns p1 into t4. What should
follow p3 is main body page 1 —deleting blank page p4 turns page 1 to p4.)
How can I remove these blank unwanted pages and keep the print and braille
pages correct?Dan Gergen
