You can download a demo version of each screen reader from their developer's Web site. For JAWS, www.freedomscientific.com for Window-Eyes, www.gwmicro.com and for Hal/Supernova, another screen reader/magnification program, www.dolphinusa.com The demo of JAWS lasts forty minutes a go; that of Window-Eyes lasts thirty; and I think the one for hal lasts thirty. So far as Duxbury is concened, it matters little whichever screen reader is used - it's a matter of personal preference and circumstances. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Clark" <rclark0276@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, May 12, 2005 11:54 PM Subject: [duxuser] DBT and screen readers Nobody answered so here we go again. I do not yet use a screen reader but plan to get one. This may be a difficult one to answer but which is better overall, JAWS or Win Eyes? I dont want to spend lots of time playing with both. Just want to get one and learn it.
