Ok, here are the steps to hopefully fix your problem:
Open your Duxbury program and open the file you are having trouble reading with
the strange characters.
Using the JAWS key or the Zero key on the numpad press the number 6 on the
number row.
You will be placed in a search field.
Tab once and arrow down to Braille and press the right arrow key followed by
the down arrow key.
You should now be on General, press the right arrow key once and you should be
on Translation.
Press the right arrow key once more and then press the down arrow key until you
come to Output. Press the spacebar until you hear Computer Braille.
If you come to the Apply, press enter.
If not tab to OK and close the settingcenter.
Now unload and restart JAWS with your hotkey.
If you need futher help I can tandam into your computer and help you faster.

Subject: [duxuser] Contracted Braille
Hi all,
I don't remember this happening before, and I need to get it fixed.
When I translate a file from print to Braille, instead of getting
normal Grade 2, i"m seeing odd symbols. For instance, the word which,
dots 1-5-6, is translated into a colon, dot 4, dots 2-5. How do I get this
fixed?
Thanks,
Chelsea
