        Yes, and that's why I do read carefully any file I'm working 
on--whether it originated as a pdf or I cut and paste or whatever.

Steve, thank you so much for reminding everyone of that. That is the single 
most problematic training issue I face in my work. People use cut and paste so 
much for everything that they seem to believe it really will work all the time 
for braille. I tell my students that once they've pasted that chunk of text 
into Duxbury, they need to edit the file line by line to find any weird 
formatting caused by the paste.

Yes, but you have to be careful with cut-and-paste as it often destroys 
formatting.
