Hi, George. Not under service contract, and being a state facility, no money
in the budget for any upgrades.

On the other hand, am considering an embosser for my personal use at home;
seems the Pro60's still the one to get? What about the Humanware products?
Are there any reviews on them? thanks.--Matt.

Hi Matt,

Have you talked to Enabling? I don't know if it might be possible to upgrade
in some way to get what you want.

George.

Hi, George and Steve. What I meant by resetting the embosser is this:

On our Classics, you need to go offline, type in 0 point followed by the menu
number and reset. Once you've entered all the parameters, the only way to get
the settings is to braille them out. On the ET, I thought you could hear all
the settings spoken.

Our embossers sometimes lose their settings, so I have to go into the menus and
reset them.--Matt.

Hi Matt,

Is your Juliet not capable of doing what DBT tells it to do without having to
do anything to the embosser, other than change paper?

We have many Juliets, and ours do allow this.

George.

Hi, Steve. We use the Juliet Classic in the Braille Shop here at BSCC. I
would have preferred to have gotten the ET (at the time back in the '90'S) but
couldn't afford it. Want an embosser where I don't need to waste paper setting
or changing embosser parameters, as I do with the Juliet.

Have you seen any reviews about the Phoenix? Thanks.--Matt.

Matthew,

I've been using the Juliet Pro 60 since 2000, and a Juliet Classic before that.
For my money, you can't beat Enabling Technology's embossers; they're real
work horses, and they produce high quality braille. Regarding price, there may
be cheaper options, but in my opinion, you get what you pay for.

Steve
