Hello All.
Now I don't use this list much but I wonder if I can get a view on
something from all you experts out there.
I have been running a transcription service as part of my business for the
last 20 years using various braille software programmes including of
course DBT.
Now here in the UK, we as both transcribers and individuals, have been
"Bullied" into submission to use UEB (Unified English Braille" as
opposed to SEB "Standard English Braille".
This is purely to unify us with Europe but don't get me started on that.
Anyway, Apologies for the preamble however, I have a question regarding
DBT and documents in word.
I am using the latest DBT plus Office 2013.
I receive documents in word from organisations that frankly have not been
written very well.
I am used to putting in things like:
* A centered row of dashes, to underline a heading;
* A Centered row of Asterisks for underlining subheadings;
* And
* Single and double line spacing within the document.
Now if I edit the document in word and say put in 2 carriage returns to
create a Blank line, once in DBT this has been reduced to a single line
spacing.
So, at last here's my question.
Is it better to edit the document in word and then tweak it in DBT or,
work on it in DBT thus putting in all commands and brailling straight
away.
I would be very interested in your views.
Thanks for taking the ;time to read my email.
