Hi Christian: I have been wanting to ask this for some time. If I remember my abrege aright, any capitalized words other than at the start of a sentence, should be spelled out. Does this mean that one has to go over a document with a fine toothe comb, to spot all such occurrences. The braille I learned was Quebec usage, but at that time, I naively felt that French braille was invariable, that it was so cleverly constructed, and the rules would would never need to change. A grad student at l'universite de Montreal, Carmen Fontaine, did an analysis of Abrege, and sent me her thesis in WordPerfect, which I could send you. She proposes some changes to simplify the system, however, she doesn't read braille. I have been threatening to translate a precis for Joe that appeared in a publication of the l'Institut Nazareth et Louis Braille. Let me know if you want it.
