And thus came the time for the Last of
the Great Races to send forth their
        fathers before Windevryl.

And he saith to them, "This dawn of a
new era shines still upon much that is
of peril. Let powers come forth who
will shepherd each kind as they make
        their way in the world".

After many races had been spoken for,
Magnus stepped forward, and pledged his
commitment to the safe guidance of the
        elves. With that, Windeveryl
cautioned "Only the Drow do I hold
back, for their path is already chosen".

Gadget spoke next. "I know little of
which you speak, save humanity, for
within them gleams the light of true
virtue." And to him was granted this
geas, so that all men look first to
Gadget when proclaiming their call to
        rightness.

"And what of the last Great Race? said
the Most High. For the light of the
world only shines upon high places and
low, yet nothing of their kind remains
        under the Sun."

Magnus spoke first. "No sign of their
kindred remains upon the world, your
grace; for we have searched high and
low. But here say I that elves will
ever guide and honor the fortunes of
        men."

Windeveryl turned to Gadget. "What say
you, Lord of Law? And would you attest
that Amrikol, your adversary, lay no
        claim to such kind?"

        Gadget, knowing that Amrikol remained
behind at the Great Door to keep the
Night Serpent at bay, demurred. "I can
not make falsehood, my lord, no matter
the greater good that could come of
such slander. I know not the
intentions of the One you Name."

        But Magnus, ever ambitious,
        added, "Surely Amrikol would not
presume to vouch for such as those whom
        we describe."

        With heavy heart did Windevryl
speak. "Then, let the Great Races go
forth and flourish in the world, both
upon it and beneath it, for such is the
        way of things."

And that is how Amrikol, equal among
        the three, was prevented from
        corrupting any of the Great
        Races.
