Yesterday I drove again, and left Max on the right for one more day, and
hitched his mom on the left. First time driving with her, and he walked off
like he was always on the right. I think the first time just took him by
surprise. Hardy is right, keep them moving forward and they can't go up and
do other funny stuff. Once they stopped then they felt they couldn't go
forward (we were on sand too), so they both were rearing up, not really even
trying until Pete gave the carriage a giant shove forward, then they had no
choice! Max was hardly able to keep up with mom's big stride at the trot,
but no problem at the walk. So now I will switch them often and keep both
sides of the brains working!
Thanks all!
Debbie
