There is some fundemental good advice in what Jay said, to use what works
for you. I expect there is a lot of variation in technique, and ultimately
it comes down to what works for you. You've got two hands, four lines, and
a task to do. There probably is merit in starting with the basic
conventional techniques of one hand and two hand, and then over time you
develop what works best. Purists might say you have to follow the
proscribed techniques, but realize that someone at some point just decided
on what he thought worked best at that time. Mightnot be your solution. I
have found that I have learned bits and pieces from a wide number of team
illuminati. There are gems of wisdom that will change what you do, lots of
little tricks and techniques. Those are the people to watch and learn from.
As an example, Mickie Bowen, who weighs less than 100 pounds, drives
beautifully. You can pretty well bet she isn't muscling her horses. I
don't know anyone else who so much emphasizes posture. She relies on upper
body strength to get the best results - and to drive well, if you weigh 250
and drive ponies, it is worth paying attention to her.
So if I found using my teeth would improve my reinhandling results, I would
do it!
