Marjean,
Jack Patison was a well-respected teamster, famous for driving teams
and multiple drafts. I regretted only knowing him as an elderly
gentleman, but kept my eyes and ears wide open for any jewels of
wisdom that he offered that would benefit my driving. A light horse
driver myself, there are all kinds of bits of horse knowledge that
cross over between types of horses and ponies and come in handy at
some time. My favorite picture of Jack was at his memorial service a
few years ago. It is of a very young Jack Patison (10?) driving a
huge goat, complete with a set of horns that could have stopped a
bus. Do you think that that old Billy didn't teach the young teamster
SOMETHING that he kept tucked into his memory of driving experience?

I am looking for things to help me get up to speed on pairs. I drove a
pair BRIEFLY a few years ago, so am not completely clueless VBG. but I have
alot to learn. The beginning of this discription would make me think it is
related to drafts, and probably not very relivent for dressage type light
horse driving. Am I wrong?
