hi margaret, thanks for the info but EVERYTHING i have read about the curricle harness stresses that if one horse trips and goes down it will take the other horse with it. on the other hand the cape cart harness is praised because you not only can hitch different sized equines but if one trips and falls it will never take the other horse down. as much as i would like to, at this point in my research i just don't have time for knowledge for it's own sake <G> thanks for your interest.... ********************************************************* [drivingpairs] Re: Cape Cart harness From: robert fairfield <rfairfield12000@xxxxxxxx> To: drivingpairs@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Tue, 29 Aug 2006 13:44:57 -0400 (EDT) Hi: Just thought I would mention a book that I have called "Hints on Driving" by Captain C. Morley Knight. He has an interesting chapter on pair harness for a cart. He apparently adapted a dog cart 2 wheel cart to a pair. He used Curricle harness, though he does mention Cape-Cart as being more appropriate for rough work. He goes into quite an informative description of the Curricle method. Anyway thought it might be of interest. The book is published by J. A. Allen & Co.,Ltd. in London it was originally published in 1884 I have the 1991 reprint.
