EVERYONE IS INVITED to join a lovely 6 to 12.5 mile recreational
carriage/wagon drive on Saturday, October 16th   for the SIRE Ride-A-Thon.
This is for the benefit of SIRE-Houston's Therapeutic Equestrian Center and
its clients of all ages with disabilities.  It will be held in Cat Spring,
Texas, at the fabulous 7IL Ranch.  Check it out at www.7ILTrails.com
<http://www.7iltrails.com/> .  Camping, hook-ups, stabling, and more trails
will be available by private arrangement with 7IL, so you could make it a
fantastic weekend.  There is no road driving; all will be on trails through
the 2100 acre ranch.  Minis to drafts and all long-ears are welcome.  

 

You are especially invited to join the Erin Denmark Carriage Driving Team.
If you have friends who prefer to ride astride, please bring them along-they
can join the Carriage Driving Team from horseback, too.  Erin is a young
lady with mental, physical, and medical disabilities who has been
participating in the SIRE program for 12 years.  It means a lot to her and
has allowed her the opportunity to even win gold medals at State Special
Olympics equestrian competitions.  Erin is a member of the Houston Area
Carriage Association and the Brazos Valley Riding and Driving Club.  She
wants our support for carriage driving as a sport and so she and other
clients with disabilities might continue to learn to drive at SIRE.  As a
client she must compete to be able to participate in the Ride-A-Thon by
gathering the most team members and donations.  So come join the fun,
support a good cause, and show those trail riders what carriage driving is
all about!

prefer they be mailed to you, just send a note to mdenmark@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
with your address (please put SIRE in the subject line).  Erin Denmark/The
Erin Denmark Carriage Driving Team must receive underwriter entries and
donations before Monday, October 4th and all other donations/entries before
Monday, October 11 to be eligible to qualify for prizes/awards. These dates
are a day before the deadline so that everything may be put on the Carriage
Team list and turned in on time.  All checks should be made to SIRE.  If you
require a donation receipt, please indicate.

 

There is no additional cost to join Erin's team just put Erin Denmark on the
line for "Team member of ____" on the registration form.  But any additional
donation will help!  If you join the team you can still drive when and with
whomever you wish.  Let's win the trophy for the biggest team to show how
fantastic and popular carriage driving is!  If you can't attend, please know
that donations are also very important, greatly appreciated, and tax
deductible.
