Hmm, wildcard support in the ACLs... tricky and a whole other can of worms.
But could be quite useful when constructing community sites. If this were a proposal, it'd also be worth including a syntax for placeholders like: 

:groups:<group>:<subgroup>:private  @<group>-<subgroup> 16

or similar, with some random special characters:

:groups:!:!:private     @$1-$2  16
Again, I suspect quite tricky, and both ACL wildcards and ACL variables are probably beyond what DW is designed for :o)
