Hi list,

Dario Taraborelli from WikkaWiki is starting a new service called
WikiTracer. It aims to aggregate wiki usage data from as much wikis as
possible. This should make worldwide wiki adoption more transparent
and give researchers and developers more ideas where to improve. It
will also give wiki administrators an easy way to monitor and evaluate
the growth of their own wiki.

I talked with Dario about the project on the last WikiSym and promised
to help him with a WikiTracer Plugin for DokuWiki. The plugin is
currently in beta stage and available on request.

WikiTracer itself is in an early alpha state currently. They are
mainly working on data gathering now and want to start with the
visualization tools when they have some real data to play with.

You can read more about the current process at
http://blog.wikkawiki.org/2009/02/25/wikitracer-call-for-alpha-testers/
or visit http://wikitracer.org

Let Dario (on CC) know if you want to participate and he will give you
the DokuWiki plugin code and IDs to use.

Andi
