I now this.
If i oversee some functions, sorry for this, my experiences are based on the
last official release, and if i down't see a change on the place of the patch,
cold by that i oversee a effect on a other place in the code witch clean the
effect as well i try to patch.
I test this patch (RSS exclusion) with the newest version, and i am sorry, but
i can agree with your arguments. no read permission **not** exclude the rss of
the site, in dw version 2008-03-11.
It is hidden in the index, if you use a sitebar with the index as navigator,
the playground is hidden and you have to place a extra link somewhere (i now,
you down't use a sitebar, but some do)
In my opinion, hide something from index/search and something from rss is not
the same and should by managed separately.
All arguments are proofed as best i can, otherwise i will not waste my time to
make patches, this is not my regular work. (speaking from css rss linebreak
patches now.)

i interrupt this discussion now here, and i explain you why.
There are two extremes witch work like poison.
One extreme is feature addicted. This cores a todo list longer than the bible,
a complex code witch nobody is able to understand anymore, and a code witch is
more faulty and faulty and never finished.
The other extreme is fear and resistance of changing anything or take any
change as a criticism to the project, this cores discussions of 300 flip-flops
for any little code line, denying anyway everything is the result, and all was
nothing then a time waste and frustrating.
The difficulty is to find the balance in between.
Everybody can do in his environment what ever he want , i can
patch what ever i want, demolish what ever i want, and put the must ugliest and
stupid design you can find in the internet if i want. And you can do what ever
you want. I try to share what was good for my, but i respect, this is your
project.
So i set for me a limit of 3 - 5 flip-flop discussions for such little changes.
Every patch is only a few lines of code with maybe a big good effect and have
no complexification sideeffect. I have and will patch this, and i try to
subscribe why, as good as possible in bad english. If you down't agree with me,
cool, no problem, go your way and be happy, and i will do the same. I down't
fight for reasons and territory.

patches now specially)
So pleas understand if i interrupt the discussion here. :-) (if you have
something important or a "killer" argument, i still respond.)
If i am now explaining my behaving, a second thing. I detect that sarcasm and
then specially the expectation of sarcasm cause a lot of friction and
misunderstanding, and permanent preparedness of self defense (of course, beside
of arrogance bigmouthness sociopathie egoism arrogance nazism mobbing
psychopathie and arrogance et et et. Look to wikipedia, step by step all good
people run frustrated away and only egosentrixx remain ;-)
So wen ever i write something, you can take this 1:1 to 99.9% (i am not
perfect), because i try to let out any sarcasm.
So, "cool, go your way and be happy" is no sarcasm!!!! :-) :-)
