Why are we considering moving to the GitHub issue tracker? Because it would
integrate issues with our repository and our repository with our issues.

Not only. If that would be the only reason, I'd agree with you. But
the initial idea was that moving to github would increase developer
happiness and contribution numbers. For the latter no other solution
would work.

I don't know about the others, but the main reason for me to be happier with GitHub issues is because of the tight integration with the repository. So, "happiness" = "integration" (at least for me).

Regarding contribution numbers, why do you think they would increase? I am not so sure about that. Especially because you can contribute without knowing about any bug tracker. ;-)
That the repository is on GitHub is much more important in that respect.

Can we have a general pro and con list on the wiki somewhere? That would make more sense so we have it all on one place and add to it, etc.

Cheers,
Anika
