Well my ideas behind the plugin manager rewrite already include jQuery,
and I hope the people working at Dokuwiki to integrate jquery will
eventually finish the job until April 23rd or 24th (I don't remember
exactly).
Sorry for the confusion. I wrote my reply before I saw Andi's reply on the "jQuery rewrite" thread: //www.freelists.org/post/dokuwiki/jQuery-rewrite,2 
So, it looks like you will be able to use jQuery by that date.
