[dokuwiki] Forms to create content?

Hey,
Is it possible to programatically create pages and have them registered
or do I just need to create a script that parses form output and pushes
a text file to the proper location and dokuwiki will automatically index
it and make sure the other metadata gets distributed? Or is there an
API I can use to do this?
