Lets try and make it more sophisticated before enabling it again.
1. some sort of check to make sure the testing server has a
connection to the outside world.
2. a better system to eliminate notifications for very short
incidents.
Okay. The server has been moved to a more trusted platform and is
better available now. Additionally I did the following:
* I created a trigger, if google is reachable from the server
* The check, if dib is reachable, is dependent on that trigger
* Every other check on dib in turn is dependent on that trigger
This means, that if google isn't reachable from my server and dib
isn't, too, no notifications for any check on dib are triggered.
Additionally, there already was a deferral of the notification
actions for 3 minutes configured, so notifications about short
outages
already shouldn't have been send. I'm not quite sure, if that really
worked.
I have reenabled dib, but removed everyone from the notification
group except me.
If anybody else wants to volunteer, I can add him to the group again.
