I am sorry to say that I seem to know how to fix the problem. 1. copy vcl\ZipMstr.dcr to packages\ZM176D.dcr 2. tell it to use it {$R ZM176D.dcr} This seems to fix it though it is hard to say when it already was installed (cannot rely on deleting it). Now I will have to update a few things. - Russell Peters ----- Original Message ----- From: "cplim" <cplim@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <delphizip@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 14, 2004 8:33 PM Subject: [delphizip] Re: Fwd: ZipMaster instllation in Delphi 6 Dear Russell, Since I had no problem with 1.73 so I suspected it was in 1.76 After a few tries with 1.76, I found that on second and subsequent compile, ZipMstr.res would conflict with ZipMstr.dcr I opened ZipMstr.res and deleted the Bitmap TZIPMASTER No more duplicate resources. cplim ----- Original Message ----- From: "R. Of course some of my problems come about because I develop multiple versions but normally dynamically load them ,so it gets a bit confusing. When I get it straightened out I can update the install.txt file (and maybe stop cursing). Maybe if I don't distribute the ZipMstr.dcr file (only ZipMstr.res) it would keep things happy. - Russell Peters ----- Original Message ----- From: "cplim" <cplim@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <delphizip@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 14, 2004 4:22 PM Subject: [delphizip] Re: Fwd: ZipMaster instllation in Delphi 6 Dear Russell, When does the duplicate resouces error comes out, when you compile the package or when you compile the project? I am using Zipmaster version 1.73 I have compiled it both in Delphi 6 and 7 without any problems. The way I use the component is to add it into my own package. ZipMstr cannot be added to a project file. This will create duplicate resource error. When the project compiles it will generate a second copy of resource file that will comflict with the component's resource file. Instead make sure the paths are added in Tools - Environment Option - Library. C P Lim ----- Original Message ----- From: "R. You can also install it as packages (hopefully) as follows in the packages folder 1. open ZM176R.dpk (better check that it does use ZipMstr.dcr) build it - it will not install because is run-time package 2. open ZM176D.dpk (again check/remove ZipMstr.dcr reference) build and install. Problem - ZipMstr.dcr must be there to create ZipMstr.res but then it causes duplicate resources. Does anyone know how to avoid this problem. - Russell Peters ----- Original Message ----- From: "Miha Tomsic" <miha.tomsic@xxxxxxxxx> To: "Delphi Zip" <delphizip@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 11:13 PM Subject: [delphizip] Fwd: ZipMaster instllation in Delphi 6 Hello! I am trying to install zipmaster 1.76 into Delphi 6 following the instructions in install.txt. I must admit, I don't have a clue what i am doing. The problem starts at step 3. Install the VCL step 5) when I select the units the second time (why is that?) I don't get the dialog to select Yes, No, Cancel. Instead the screen blinks like there was a dialog for a short fraction of a second and that's it. If I try to compile or build ZipMaster I get an error: [Error] WARNING. Duplicate resource(s): [Error] Type 2 (BITMAP), ID TZIPMASTER: [Error] File C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi6\ZipMaster\VCL\ZipMstr.dcr resource kept; file C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi6\ZipMaster\VCL\ZipMstr.res resource discarded. Any idea where I went wrong?
