Dear Deanwood Residents,
Along with Patricia Stamper, I had the pleasure to serve as a volunteer on
Councilmember Gray's Ward 7 ANC redistricting taskforce representing the
Deanwood community. Today is the last public hearing for DC redistricting.
Please voice your support for this map TODAY by email (
redistricting@xxxxxxxxxxxx) or phone (202) 350-1521.
Here is some text you can use, if helpful:
I urge you to stand today with 16 of your 19 taskforce members and support
the ANC map the Ward 7 redistricting taskforce recommended on April 1. It
has full support of all EOTR taskforce members and 2 of the 5 WOTR
taskforce members. It puts the entire community of Deanwood in one ANC. It
continues and improves upon the last 10 years of ANCs that span the
Anacostia River by having multiple SMDs on each side. It will allow for
equitable development and transportation that span the historical
segregating line of the Anacostia River. This map also received ANC
resolutions of support from 7B, 7C, 7E, & 7F as well as countless civic and
citizens groups including the Deanwood Citizens Association.
*How to provide comments:*
If anyone is unable to testify at the hearing, written statements will be
made a part of the official record. Written statements should be submitted
by email to redistricting@xxxxxxxxxxxx. Additionally, the public may
provide testimony by voice mail by calling (202) 350-1521, stating and
spelling the witness’s name, stating any organizational affiliation, and
speaking slowly to provide a statement to be transcribed and included in
the record. The Subcommittee record on Bill 24-700 will close at 5:00 p.m.
on Friday, May 13, 2022. Residents can also find more information about the
