A Very Special Watershed Wednesday Happy Hour with Bob Irvin, Nov 16

On October 18, 2022, the Clean Water Act turned 50 years old, and the
Anacostia Watershed Society is still celebrating!

Please join us for a special interview-style Watershed Wednesday Happy Hour
on November 16, 6-7:30pm

as we look back at the first fifty years of the Clean Water Act and
consider what the next fifty might have in store.  The Clean Water Act is
one of the nation's most important environmental laws, and its impacts on
rivers and wetlands across the country and in the Anacostia watershed have
been profound.

We welcome Bob Irvin, who will sit down to chat with Chris Williams,
Anacostia Watershed Society president.

Bob Irvin is an avid angler with a strong personal interest in clean rivers
and streams. His long career in conservation as a U.S. Department of
Justice lawyer, staff attorney for the National Wildlife Federation,
counsel to the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, head of
conservation at Defenders of Wildlife, and recently retired President and
CEO of American Rivers has left him long experience, deep expertise, and
wide-ranging perspectives on the history, influence and possible future of
the Clean Water Act.
