Hope everyone is well! Below is the weekly communal farm update on
available produce to give away, volunteer opportunities, and requests for
help this week.

*  Highlights*

*Virtual Tour of the Lederer Gardens First Weekly Veggie Giveway*

*Available Produce This Week*

*Edgewood Rooftop Farm *

   - Crops ready to harvest
      - *Collards, kale, chard, broccoli, cabbage, mustard, **lettuce,
      herbs*
      - Weekly produce giveaways every Tuesday 11-12pm

   - Can self-harvest if volunteering during open hours
      (Tuesdays 10-1pm)

*Lederer Gardens *

   - Crops ready to harvest
   - *Collards, kale, chard, broccoli, cabbage, mustard, radishes**,
      lettuce, root crops, herbs*,* strawberries*

   -
   - Weekly produce giveaways every Wednesday 11-12pm
      - Can self-harvest if volunteering during open hours
(Monday/Wednesday
      9-1pm)

*Volunteer Schedule*

*If possible give us a heads up if you're coming any day and we'll let you
know if there's a weather cancellation*

*This Month’s Wednesday Evening Schedule*

*No more evening farm hours till June*

*Monday – *Lederer Gardens - 10-2pm

   -
   - Building tomato trellises
   - Pot up berry propagation cuttings
   - Garden maintenance (watering, weeding, fertilizing, pest/disease
   control, etc)

*Tuesday *- Edgewood - 10-2pm

   -
   - 10-11am – Harvest and set up veggie giveaway
   -
   - 11-12pm – Veggie Giveaway
   -
   - 12-2pm
      - Build tomato trellises
      - Water trees planted last fall
   -
      - Garden maintenance (watering, weeding, fertilizing, pest/disease
      control, etc)

*Wednesday* - Lederer - 9-2pm

   -
   - 9-11am – Harvest and set up veggie giveaway
   - 11-12pm – Veggie Giveaway
   - 12-2pm
      - Finish tomato trellises
      - Garden maintenance (watering, weeding, fertilizing, pest/disease
      control, etc)

*Thursday *– Powell Communal Farm –  10-2pm

   - Final bed prep before planting
   - Wood chip paths
   - Make more English/Spanish signage
   - Weeding
   - Cut down rest of invasive trees

*Friday  *-  May have an extra work day at either Lederer Gardens or Powell
communal Farm.   Will send an update later in week.

Below is the official veggie giveaway flyer.  Please help us share this
flyer with local listservs, civic groups, and if possible print them out
and post them in public areas near the farms.

In park in between tennis courts and church

Parking laong 16th st, Pine st and Park rd NW (watch out for street
sweeping)

*What to bring? *

   - Volunteering - Please bring your own water, garden gloves if you have
   them, sun protection if needed, and a mask.
   - Picking up veggies - Please bring bags and a mask
