KEvin:
Here is a point that confuses a lot of folks. In order to see the
parameters of a soft synth in the track inspector, you must insert it
directly into an audio track, not into the synth rack.

Phil,
I figured it was the effects tab but I couldn't find any
evidence of a Dxi or VST instrument, even though I knew it was there
because it's part of the teplate I developed and I can play it. Where
should it be? Again, I assume I should be in the audio track, not the
MIDI track. Is that right?
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin!!

You should be in the "affects" tab for affects whether they are DXi, or
.VST. Note: that includes instruments or affects. The "EQ" tab is for
the Sonatus EQ that is built into Sonar Producer. This tab is only for
that EQ and no other affects. The "volume" tab is just for volume
controls on that track or, bus in the Inspector view.
